Throw explosive, harpoon/trap or stun/trap, into flanking then regular damage buttons. You’re always trying to use explosive shot, trap, and flanking in conjunction with each other because they are all 30 second cooldown and easily usable together. Outside of your big cooldown, you still have really high micro burst with your trap every 30. You get to do four of them in CA, peels notwithstanding. Its a 100-175k hit that puts a short bleed with the value of 50% of that hit on the target. Any tiny amount of mastery that you have carried over from your BM/Marks gear makes CA kill shot absolutely nuts. ![]() You can swap to birds of prey for situations where you’re pretty confident that the stuff you’re killing is going to be close enough together to cleave both with kill shot and cleave even harder. With bombardier, you enter your burst by depleting both bombs, explosive shot, and chakram into a trap setup, then you activate coordinated assault and immediately have both bombs back up, which lets you kill shot, flanking, right back into your next two bombs, back into your next kill shot. what they do to mages lol)įirst question I have is who thought it was a smart idea to make the bottom capstone talents completely useless for arenas to the point nobody runs them in arenas and when can we expect a fix on thatīoth bombardier and birds of prey are incredibly strong. If you don’t feel like building stacks of deadly duo you can just run with coordinated kill and birds of prey which most do. I’m actually playing with deadly duo which I never see any of the top survival hunters take and pair that with alpha predator and I get some absolutely massive kill commands. So yeah damage is not the issue for survival. ![]() Obviously you wont always be able to get the ideal rotation going because people aren’t target dummies but even having just ES exploding on someone with something like KC, KS, or FS hitting at the same time can take a huge chunk out of someone’s health bar. But the rotation doesn’t stop there you following that up with more bombs and KCs and kill shot (KS) and/or flanking strike (FS) and in that window of Death Chakram (DC) being up you just did infinity damage. This will result in a massive spike in damage that can be as high as 300k+ damage in a global depending on your spec. Depending on the amount of haste you have your explosive shot (ES) will blow up at the same time bomb or or kill command (KC) lands. so a basic rotation that i’m finding works really well for me so far is something like ES>DC>Bomb>KC>Bomb>KC>KS and/or FS. The order really does matter and can be the difference between doing 100k dps in a burst window or 50. Survival is one of those specs where you have to do your rotation right when you burst not just hit damage buttons because it’s go time. I just picked up the spec last week but if you feel like you are not doing damage as survival it’s most likely because you are not optimizing your rotation during burst windows. Not gonna lie I thought this was gonna be a nerf survival post because the spec really is a sleeper spec and the ONLY thing stopping surv from being s tier are crappy hunter defensives. ![]()
